Six Questions Your Screenmobile Franchise Financial Model Must Answer

We built this franchise unit business plan using deep research into mobile screen repair operations. Key assumptions like the $120,000 mobile workshop cost and 7% royalty fees are pre-populated and fully editable. Based on the data, this unit hits its stride quickly, reaching a positive EBITDA of $146,000 in the first year.

What is the profitability trajectory?

You can expect this mobile service unit to become profitable almost immediately, with a breakeven date of March 2026. By year five, the net profit expands as revenue climbs toward $807,000 and material costs stabilize.

Boost Your Bottom Line

  • Optimize technician routing to lower fuel costs
  • Upsell recurring maintenance packages to HOAs
  • Maintain hardware fittings at 1.8% of sales
[dynamic_pic9]

How much capital is needed?

Launching this mobile fabrication business requires a total initial investment of roughly $255,500 when accounting for the workshop and equipment. You will need to cover the $49,500 franchise fee and have enough working capital to handle the ramp-up phase.

Major Startup Costs

  • Mobile Workshop Vehicle: $120,000
  • Initial Franchise Fee: $49,500
  • Fabrication Equipment: $30,000
  • Initial Materials Inventory: $25,000
[dynamic_pic10]

What is the expected ROI?

The franchise investment ROI spreadsheet shows a payback period of 4 years, which is standard for high-capex mobile units. With an IRR of 3.42% and a Return on Equity of 0.49, the long-term value is built on steady residential demand rather than overnight windfalls.

Key Investment Metrics

  • Internal Rate of Return: 3.42%
  • Years to Payback: 4 Years
  • Year 5 EBITDA: $216,000
[dynamic_pic11]

When is the break-even point?

Calculating break-even point for new franchise location shows you need to hit your target volume by month 3. The primary driver here is the volume of window and door screen jobs, as fixed costs like the $2,400 workshop lease stay constant regardless of your daily ticket count.

Speed Up Break-Even

  • Secure HOA contracts before the March launch
  • Use geo-fenced ads to increase local density
  • Monitor lead technician productivity closely
[dynamic_pic12]

What is the cash runway?

The lowest cash point occurs in June 2026, where the balance dips to $1,038. This is a tight margin, so having a small cash buffer is defintely recommended to handle any delays in the $30,000 recurring maintenance revenue stream.

Protect Your Cash

  • Phase the $12,000 tools purchase if needed
  • Negotiate better terms on material inventory
  • Delay the Admin Assistant hire until June

How do scenarios change outcomes?

Our profitability analysis for home service franchise units compares different market conditions. A High scenario-driven by better local marketing execution-can push year-1 margins well above the $146,000 EBITDA mark, while a Low scenario might extend the 4-year payback period if sales coordinator productivity lags.

Hit the High Case

  • Master the one-visit efficiency to increase throughput
  • Partner with luxury pool contractors for referrals
  • Focus on high-margin patio enclosure screens

Excellent scale in all ways.
Size: EK6002
I’ve used this identical scale for four years, though with a different brand name on it, still identical, made in China with a friendly “Hello” on the splash screen when you turn it on. After approximately 1,000 uses in four years, it suddenly died one day, lost its mind and became obviously useless. When that happened there was no doubt in my mind that I wanted to replace it with exactly the same scale because I liked the old one so much. The controls are logically laid out, the display is bright, it automatically turns itself off after a few minutes if you forget about it. I’ve tested it with standard weights and it’s precisely accurate. It’s correctly sized for its task (a coffee scale), it’s slim, light, has a removable, washable rubber mat that covers the weighing platform, and is altogether a winner in design and utility, and there’s no reason to change anything about it. When this one fails, I’ll be happy enough to buy another. It costs twenty bucks . . .

Simple, does the trick.
Size: EK6002
It's a simple, basic scale. Lightweight, it's easy to move from where I stash it to where I use it for measuring coffee. The unit of measure holds it setting when you turn it off, which is nice. I use it in grams for coffee, which is 95% of my use. I acquired a big bag of coffee (5lbs or so) which I broke down into smaller vacuum-packed bags for storage, measured out at 180g each. The scale mostly performed like a champ, although it drifted off zero twice between during bags. Simply shutting restarting the scale got it back on track. It works for me, if you're a hardcore candy maker or baker, you may want a higher quality unit.

Great scale, great price.
Size: EK6002
3 years in, this scale was well worth the $23 cost . Still works flawlessly. I use it multiple times per day for coffee and cooking. Honestly if it had been twice that much it would have been worth it. Partially because of the price point, I don't know if I could come up with a complaint if I had to give one.

Great addition to our coffee station.
Size: EK6002
Love it. It's accuracy might be a little fuzzy about measuring the last tenth of a gram, probably due to rounding. But it showed a difference when a single coffee bean was added. Easy to read. The removable pad makes it easier to clean. It fits right on my little coffee station. To be honest, I didn't read the instructions. It's fairly intuitive if you know how they are supposed to work. I like it.
