In this 3-hour class, students will be introduced to the most widely used techniques in silversmithing: piercing and cutting. They will learn how to design on paper, transfer their design onto metal, drill using a flex-shaft, work with a jeweller's saw, file, sand, dome, make jump rings and polish their piece with a flex-shaft. Students can choose from a selection og provided designs or create their own design. If you’re creating your own design, consider that you will be working with a 1” x 1” piece of silver. Keep it fairly simple as the class is only 3 hours.

The teacher will offer work in progress demonstrations as well as technical tips and tricks. Students will be expertly guided through every step!

Tools and materials are provided for the class (including sterling silver plate and wire for your project)
