Using the highest-grade materials and only the most qualified craftsmen in the biz, the results are nothing short of astonishing, time and time again.
This 1963 SG Junior Reissue is built with the modern-day functionality in mind, while staying true to the guitar’s origin story. Designed by going over its vintage predecessors with a fine tooth comb and applying a dash of current build practices and innovation, Gibson Custom has provided us with an authentic SG Junior experience, sonically and visually.
A Cherry Red finish and a SG Junior go hand-in-hand. It is a timeless pairing that has helped define the visual aspect of rock and roll guitar playing. This guitar features a VOS Nitrocellulose lacquer finish. It is thin, breathable, and bears a “vintage patina” right from the factory. Its all-solid mahogany body and neck are well balanced and comfortable to play in any setting. If you’re a fan of higher fret access, the double cutaway will surely suit your fancy. A single Dog-Ear P-90 pickup is wired to spit out soaring solos or rhythmic patterns that can either sit perfectly in the mix, or jump out into the crowd, all dependent on your preference. A medium C neck with Indian Rosewood fingerboard on top allows for premium playability, whether you are comping chords or taking the lead. And thanks to the lightning bar bridge/wraparound tailpiece, intonation comes easier while maintaining string bendability and plenty of solid-body sustain.
