In this second edition of Invitation to Biblical Interpretation, Andreas Kostenberger leads the reader step-by-step through the process of interpreting and applying God's Word. The primary principle is the hermeneutical triad, which consists of history, literature, and theology. Readers are equipped to explore the historical background of a biblical passage, analyze its literary genre and features, and derive its theological meaning in light of the biblical canon. Numerous examples are provided throughout to illustrate the concepts. A concluding chapter provides direction on practical application, preaching, and helpful tools for Bible study. Additional features include key words and definitions at the end of each chapter, study questions, and practical exercises for applying the material. An appendix lists numerous resources for Bible study, including recommended commentaries for every book of the Bible. The second edition updates these resources, as well as the sources cited throughout, and includes a revised chapter on the Old Testament canon. Instructors, students, pastors, and anyone who desires to interpret Scripture accurately will find this volume to be an indispensable addition to their library.

______________

“Hermeneutics is a tricky undertaking, and one can easily drown in technical nomenclature and complex philosophy. But here, Köstenberger and Patterson deliver an accessible and sturdy volume. These two craftsmen have built an entire workshop for the church, fitted with every major hermeneutical tool―history, genre, language, as well as application and proclamation. I encourage laypeople, students, and pastors to put this volume to good use and construct a robust lesson, paper, or sermon. Very well done!” Benjamin Gladd, Associate Professor of New Testament, Reformed Theological Seminary

Sturdy and easy to open flaps
Format: Board book
Buy the book! Purchased this a second time as our toddler loves it so much and our first copy was very loved. The board book pages are thick and sturdy holding up well to impulsive throwing. Flaps are easy for little fingers to open and this is hands down our 18mo olds favorite book and she runs over with it daily to "read". Lots of fun things to point to to practice speech as well.

Brushes up bedtime routine!
Style: Sonic Toothbrush with 2 Heads
My kids have very weak enamel with tons of cavities. It would take us forever to get their teeth clean because I use the plaque dye tablets to make sure their teeth are actually clean after brushing. Because of this we would spend up to half an hour brushing teeth over and over and over again. With this toothbrush the kids love it first off. Then it has a timer on it so the kids know when they are done brushing and it works great. The kids will use it once and then I will spot check their teeth while we're flossing and I will take a regular toothbrush and hit any areas that this missed. And those are only a couple small areas. Not only does it work great the kids love it and it saves me so much time and headache at night when everybody should be in bed!
