Although both are considered to be synthetic products made from natural pyrethrins derived from chrysanthemums, bifenthrin is considered more toxic to insects and having a longer residual effect than permethrin. Bifenthrin is the active ingredient in this product highly toxic to fish and small aquatic organisms so be careful using this around ponds and fountains. It's also very highly toxic to bees so be careful not to spray when bees are foraging. Bifen is extremely good at getting rid of mosquitoes. The product works by shutting down the insects' nervous system, leading to paralysis and death. The ingredient contained in bifen (pyrethroid) can kill and manage over 75 types of insects and is also effective against mosquitoes resistant to other products.
