Background – What is team management?

A manager's ability to coordinate and manage a group to accomplish common goals and tasks is called team management. A manager and his team are essential to team management. Effective team management skills are essential because they enable employees to feel more productive, motivated and successful.

This course Lead and manage team effectiveness (based on BSBWOR502) will help you earn the skillsnecessary to consult team members to establish a common understanding of team purpose, roles,responsibilities and accountabilities in accordance with organisational goals, plans and objectives.

Our Lead and manage team effectiveness course is based on the unit of competency of BSBWOR502. Whilst this course is not nationally recognised, it follows the learning outcomesand elements associated with that unit. The course contains

  2. Online Assessment tasks
  3. Ability to download your Certificate of Completion once assessment tasks are completed


What will you learn by completing the training course?

This course will include an understanding of awareness of the relevant legislation and yourresponsibilities in leading and managing team effectiveness.

Learning outcomes include:

  1. Develop performance plans to establish expected outcomes, outputs, key performance indicators (KPIs) and goals for work team
  2. Support team members in meeting expected performance outcomes
  3. Develop strategies to ensure team members have input into planning, decision making and operational aspects of work team
  4. Develop policies and procedures to ensure team members take responsibility for own work and assist others to undertake required roles and responsibilities
  5. Provide feedback to team members to encourage, value and reward individual and team efforts and contributions
  6. Develop processes to ensure that issues, concerns and problems identified by team members are recognised and addressed
  7. Encourage team members and individuals to participate in and to take responsibility for team activities, including communication processes
  8. Support the team in identifying and resolving work performance problems
  9. Ensure own contribution to work team serves as a role model for others and enhances the organisation’s image for all stakeholders
  10. Establish and maintain open communication processes with all stakeholders
  11. Communicate information from line manager/management to the team
  12. Communicate unresolved issues, concerns and problems raised by team members and follow-up with line manager/management and other relevant stakeholders
  13. Evaluate and take necessary corrective action regarding unresolved issues, concerns and problems raised by internal or external stakeholders

Lead and manage team effectiveness course is available online and completed in your own time. This Lead and manage team effectiveness training course is based on the learning outcomes outlined above.

The course is typically designed to be completed in a minimum of four hours. However, the exact length of the course may depend on your ability and prior knowledge around the subject.

What Accreditation Will You Get?

After completing the Lead and manage team effectiveness course, an assessment is conducted to determine if you have understood the information presented during the training course. If you pass this assessment, you receive a Certificate of Completion.

IMPORTANT NOTE whilst this course is based on the learning outcomes of the course provided, it is important to note that it is not a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment unless you opt for that option. Nationally Recognised training is only really required If you specifically require that unit of competency for a qualification or licence (typically this will require a practical component, further assessment and increased costs).

This course has been designed to comply with the best practices of national health and safety standards. Terminology has been chosen for clarity and ease of comprehension across jurisdictions. For example, ‘employer’ has been used to signify the broader term ‘PCBU’, while ‘WHS’ represents both work and occupational health and safety.

A Certificate of Completion is issued on successful completion of the course and you are required to get an 80% pass mark to be deemed as understanding the content.
