The book effectively covers data analysis, probability and probability distributions with engineering applications, dependent analysis, exact and large sample parametric and non-parametric statistical tests. Some topics that are found to be useful in the state-of-the-art engineering applications like improving performance quality of a manufacturing process, development of a new process, selection of engineering parameters are specially emphasized.Written in very lucid language with a clear presentation of concepts and definitions, and supported a large number of illustrations, solved examples, and Points to be noted� , the book makes the subject easy for the students to understand and master.  About the Authors Prof. Srijib Bhusan Bagchi did his PhD in Statistics (area: Reliability Theory) from the University of Calcutta. He retired as the Professor and Head of the Department of Statistics, the University of Burdwan. Then he joined Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata as a Visiting Scientist. In 2008, he joined the postgraduate Dept. of Mathematics, Bethune College as Jyotsnamoyee De Chair Professor of Actuarial Science. In 2010, Prof. Bagchi joined Aliah University as Professor and Head in the Dept. of Statistics and Informatics and continued up to December 2016. In 2017, Prof. Bagchi joined the University of Engineering and Management, Kolkata as Emeritus Professor. Besides, he served various institutes as a Visiting/ Adjunct Professor.Dr. Srijibendu Bagchi did his M.Tech and PhD in Radio Physics and Electronics, University of Calcutta. He joined the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, RCC Institute of Information Technology, Kolkata as a lecturer and currently he is an Associate Professor. He acted as the Program Coordinator of the PG course in Communication Engineering for several years. During 2019 - 2020 he served as the Head of the Department.Tapati Bagchi did her M.Sc in Statistics from Gauhati University. She joined the Department of Statistics of TDB College, Raniganj and subsequently joined the Department of Statistics, Asutosh College, Kolkata. She retired as Associate Professor and Head of the Department. She also served the Department of Statistics of the University of Burdwan and the Department of Mathematics, Bethune College as Guest Faculty.
