Der 1939 geborene Norbert Behrend war ab 1969 als freischaffender Grafiker in Berlin tätig. In seiner eigenen Druckwerkstadt setzte er Radierungen in kleinen Auflagen um. Das Material für seine Arbeiten generierte er u.a. auf unzähligen Streifzügen durch die Stadt, wobei er mit einer Kamera Vorlagen festhielt.
